Every Scent + Psyche candle begins with a short list of materials we feel good about. Coconut soy wax, all-natural, with no paraffin or petroleum-based wax. Wood wicks, sustainably sourced, that crackle softly as they burn. Fragrance oils that are clean and phthalate free. All of it poured by hand into amber glass jars, packaged to be recycled when you’re done. We keep the ingredients simple so the scent can do the talking, and so the candle feels as good in your home as it smells.
Light it right. Hold a strong flame to the wood wick for several seconds, giving it time to melt the wax at the base.
Make the first burn a long one. Burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar to prevent tunneling, and do the same every time. Always follow any burn-time limits on your candle’s label.
Trim before every burn. Once the candle has cooled completely, trim the wick to 1/8–1/4" and clear away any charred wood.
Burn safely. Use a heat-safe surface at least 2 feet from anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children and pets. Keep wick trimmings and debris out of the wax. Let the jar cool completely before touching or moving it.
