Refund policy

Returns & Exchanges

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return. To be eligible, your item must be unused, in its original packaging, and accompanied by your receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, contact us at orders@scentandpsyche.com. If your return is accepted, we'll send you a return shipping label and instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.


Candle Performance Replacements

We take pride in the quality of our candles and want every burn to be a great experience. If your candle isn't performing as expected — such as tunneling, poor scent throw, uneven burning, or flame issues — we're here to help.

Here's how the process works:

1. Try our burning tips first. Many performance issues can be resolved with a few simple adjustments. Please read our "Tips for a Perfect Burn" article before reaching out — it covers the most common causes and fixes.

2. Still having trouble? Reach out. If the tips don't resolve the issue, contact us at orders@scentandpsyche.com with your order number and a description of the problem.

3. Send us a photo or video. To help us assess the issue, please include a clear photo or short video showing the problem (for example: the wax surface, flame behavior, or wick). Replacement requests without supporting documentation cannot be processed.

4. We'll make it right. If we determine the issue is a product defect, we'll send a replacement at no cost to you.

Please note: Replacements are offered for genuine product defects. Issues caused by not following candle care guidelines — such as not trimming the wick, burning for shorter than the recommended time, or burning in drafty conditions — may not qualify. We'll always review each case individually and work toward a fair resolution.


Damages and Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order upon arrival. If your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us immediately at orders@scentandpsyche.com so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned, including custom or personalized products and gift cards. Please get in touch if you have questions about a specific item.


Exchanges

The fastest way to get what you want is to return the original item and, once the return is accepted, place a new order for the replacement item.


Refunds

We'll notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know whether the refund has been approved. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded to your original payment method. Please allow some additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
